4 dead, 4 injured in road accident in north Afghanistan

PUL-E-KHUMRK, Afghanistan, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) — At least four commuters lost their lives and four others were injured due to a road accident in northern Afghanistan’s Baghlan province on Tuesday night, provincial police said in a statement on Wednesday.
The mishap took place in the province’s Khanjan district after a passenger car rammed into a land cruiser. The injured have been shifted to the provincial hospital of Baghlan, the statement said.
Road accidents are a leading cause of deaths in the country due to poor road conditions, reckless driving, overloading and overspeeding. ■
